I am a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and the founder of Pivotal Therapy serving in Coral Gables and throughout South Florida. I have approximately 12 years, working with infants, toddlers, children, adolescents, and adults in Mental Health and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
I earned my Bachelors in Psychology from Florida International University and continued to earn my Master's in Counseling with specialization in Advanced Applied Behavior Analysis and Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University.
I've worked in outpatient community mental health settings, ABA agencies, and schools in Southern California and South Florida holding different leadership positions across different agencies. This provided ample experience to work with individuals and families with a wide variety of concerns and backgrounds. I have worked providing trauma informed therapy to children, adolescents and adults in crisis as identified by the Department of Children and Families. I have partnered with Kaiser Permanente and Health Management Associates in providing integrative behavioral health for depression for underserved population working collaboratively with MDs and psychaitrist. I have volunteered in National Alliance of Mental Health as a Spanish Outreach leader and United Nations advocating for mental health services in underserved communities. Have experiencing in training therapists, medical students, school psychologist, and other disciplines on psychological principles and methods. Most recently presenting at the "Children First Conference" discussing diagnostic features of Individuals with autism (ASD), ADHD, and Intellectual Disability. Since beginning my private practice 2020, I continue to seek education and training to better serve my clients and staff attending various trainings and conferences across the globe.
In my practice, I integrate evidence based approaches Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Applied Behavior Analysis, Family Therapy, Behavioral Parent Training, Play Therapy, Trauma Informed CBT, cognitive processing therapy, and Person Centered approaches to help clients and families make meaningful and long lasting changes. I seek to build a strong alliance with each of my client in order to work together. I meet my clients where they are in their current journey and navigate them through their challenges and tailor my approaches to each client's needs. I enjoy educating and supporting my client's through the therapeutic process. I believe in building a safe, nurturing, open, and non-judgmental space that allows for individuals to build self-acceptance, explore their needs, fears, challenges and desires. Through this exploration and identification I will then provide clients with the appropriate tools and skills to aid on their unique journey.
I work with individuals, families, conduct group session, ABA services and ADOS evaluations. I am passionate about working with children and adolescents struggling with depression, social anxiety, autism, and ADHD and providing collaborative support to these clients and their families. The field of ABA is a great love of mine as I have witnessed the impact it has made in my clients, parents, caregivers and teachers lives. I am devoted to providing quality services and believe in the power of therapy. I look forward to supporting you and/or your family to navigate self-discovery and actualization. I offer a free initial 15 minute consultation to all potential clients to make sure I can offer the help you need. Studies have shown that the therapeutic relationship is the most healing and effective aspect of therapy, which means finding the most suitable therapist is essential to a successful therapeutic outcome.
