Children’s Friendship Training (CFT) is a 12-week evidence-based social skills program designed for elementary school children who struggle with forming and maintaining friendships. In each session, children learn vital social skills through interactive activities, while parents participate in separate sessions to learn how to support their children's social development.

The program is for children in two age groups, 2nd -3rd grade and 4th -5th grade (*First grade policy: 7 year old, 1st graders may be accepted into the program starting April of their 1st grade year), who have:

Once we have received your application, we will email you a confirmation that we are processing your application. PLEASE NOTE: if you do not receive a confirmation email from us within 3-5 business days after submission, please contact us at 305-707-1600.
After processing, our staff will contact you to complete a phone screen and schedule the Telehealth intake appointment with one of our clinicians to determine whether the program is appropriate for you and your child.
A pre-screening with an assessment for group readiness will occur before admission into the group is confirmed. If accepted into the program, there will be a $100 application processing fee.
The cost is $2,000 for the entire program (includes both participants and parent/caregiver/social coach group). One half of payment ($1,000) is made one-week prior to the group start dates and second payment is made on the 8th week.
Insurance: We accept many types of insurance. Our programs are billed as outpatient group therapy sessions.
PEERS® for Adolescents is an evidence-based social skills program for adolescents in middle and
high school who are interested in making and keeping friends and/or handling conflict and rejection.
Adolescents and parents attend 16 weekly group sessions for 90 minutes per week. Participants are taught social skills through didactic lessons and role-play demonstrations, and practice these skills during group socialization activities by PEERS® certified providers. Parents attend separate sessions simultaneously and are taught how to assist adolescents in making and keeping friends (parent participation is required).
